The council's acounts for the year 2022-23 have now been finalised and successfully completed internal and external audit. Wadworth is a village and civil parish in the Metropolitan Borough of Doncaster in South Yorkshire, England. It has a population of 1,229. Notable buildings in the village include Wadworth Hall.

HISTORY
The origins of the present church, dedicated to St John the Baptist, is of a late Norman structure from the twelfth century. The church stands on a high point in the village and is visible from miles around by virtue of its tall west tower which dates from the fifteenth century.
By the fifteenth century a branch of the Fitzwilliam family of Sprotbrough had settled in Wadworth, as witnessed by two fine tombs of that period still to be found in the church. This branch moved its seat to nearby Aldwark on inheriting the estate through marriage. Both Aldwark and Wadworth passed by similar means to the Folambe family whose name is still closely associated with the village today.
