Police Report

2172. Mr Dewsnap distributed the most recent police update to members and noted that the policing boundaries had been unaffected by the recent change in political boundaries. It was noted that attendance at meetings is by exception due to the high numbers of meetings at which police attendance would be welcome and the potential detrimental effect this would have on police duties. However it was also noted that the police value partnership working .

DMBC Councillor Hoyle joined the meeting at 7.05pm

2173. It was noted that crime generally is low, there has been a recent incident involving the theft of cycles and Bawtry has suffered increased anti social behaviour (ASB) problems, although the introduction of a pub watch scheme and increased SNT presence has proved successful. There has been localised incidents of ASB in Wadworth but this is being attended to. Members reported that there are also problems on the village green, particularly on weekend evenings. The police to note & add to their patrols.

2174. Members asked on the legal status of vehicles being parked on verges and advertised for sale. It was noted that this is a highways issue, the police are only involved if it is dangerous or obstructive parking.

Matters Raised By DMBC Members

2175. The White Rose Way improvements have now been passed. The new bridge over the river Torn is to be altered, the approach is difficult for wheel chairs to negotiate. Some of the restructuring has been finalised and the new posts are being filled. The Osberton Street play area has been officially opened, a litter bin and one further piece of play equipment is to be installed.

2176. Members raised concerns that the public right of way to Quarry Hill s appears to have been fenced off. Members to raise the matter at the next Rights of Way Forum.

Neighbourhood Report

2177. Ms Rashid outlined the new structure and noted that Neighbourhood Response Officers could be contacted on 01302 341628 to deal with any ASB reports. The officers will now be working longer hours (7pm to 6am) and have the same powers as Community Safety Wardens.

2178. It was noted that cleansing and grounds maintenance have been integrated and the level of service is to be standardised. The new department is Integrated Street Scene Services

2179. Members reported that the road sign near to the village sign on the A6094 has been damaged and the cutting of the hedges on White Cross Road has not been completed. DMBC to look at the matters.

2180. The Tofield Road bench has not been replaced. Clerk to prompt.

DMBC Councillor Hoyle, Ms Rashid and Mr Dewsnap left the meeting at 7.45pm

Matters raised by Parisioners

2181. A parishioner has raised the matter of the damaged phone box, the matter has subsequently been re-reported and an acknowledgement received from BT. He raised further concerns about the conifer trees on Old School Lane and the fact that after emptying, domestic refuse bins are not returned to the relevant properties, but left at the bottom of Old School Lane. The matter to be forwarded to DMBC. Members believe the conifers are to be removed by the new owners of the property.

2182. Minutes

The minutes of the meeting held on 2nd 2011 were accepted as a true record and authorised to be signed by the Chairman. It was noted that minute 2052 should refer to Church Road and not Church Walk.

Matters Arising From The Minutes

2183. Members agreed that letters asking that the allotments be cleared of rubbish and cultivated be issued to two allotment holders. Failure to see an improvement in the allotments will likely lead to notice being given. The clerk is to provide a summary income and expenditure account for the allotment to determine a reasonable rent review. Members also asked that certain multiple allotment agreements be reviewed with a view to asking the tenant to relinquish some allotments.

2184. DMBC have confirmed that holiday activities for Wadworth are being considered, but could give no further details. Members asked that the matter be prompted.

2185. The tree replacement is still in progress, members asked that a definite date for planting be obtained.

2186. Woodland Trust have responded regarding the shrubbery, they ask if a volunteer group can be formed to work in partnership with the Trust to improve the area. Members considered this to Be a good idea and ask that a poster be drawn up advertising for volunteers for the notice board and for inclusion into Tickhill Today.
