WADWORTH PARISH COUNCIL MEETING

Declaration of Interests

2232. Councillor Oliver declared an interest in items relating to the cricket pavilion, Councillors Fromont to items relating to the Community Centre and Councillor Booth to the matter of the tree removal on Old School Lane. Councillor Bacon to the request for a donation towards the Community Centre Christmas dinner.

Minutes

2233. The minutes of the meeting held on 1st September 2011 were accepted as a true record and authorised to be signed by the Chairman.

Matters Raised By Parishioners

2234. It was noted that the perspex in the BT phone kiosk has been replaced.

Matters Raised By DMBC Members

2235. DMBC confirmed that a donation would be made towards the Community Centre Christmas dinner . Enquiries were also made as to what refurbishment is still outstanding a the community centre. It was noted that the main item is the conversion of the heating system to mains gas.

2236. DMBC are considering holding a fair in Wadworth, the idea has been raised at the TARA meetings. Members considered the matter and are opposed to the idea on the grounds of increased youth nuisance. DMBC noted the response.

Neighbourhood Report

2237. A general update has been received and was read to the meeting, no observations were made.

Police Report

2238. The police have responded to the request to add crime figures to the monthly report, it is time consuming and is perceived to be of little interest to the community. With regard to the request for the timing of patrols in the area the information is not available. It was also noted that there have been no reports of youth nuisance and at the last PACT meeting it was written off as a priority, The response had been previously circulated to members.

2239. The monthly report has been received and circulated to members.

2240. DMBC noted that the police have acquired off road bikes to deal with the off road bike nuisance and that they have received good and quick responses to recent reports of problems.

2241. Members reported that youths had tried to break in to the pavilion, when the police were called, they did not attend the incident. It was also noted that there have been reports of youth nuisance around the community centre, but again the police did not attend the incident.

Pavilion Repairs

2242. A letter has been received from the cricket club raising concerns about leaks in the plumbing system and requesting that more chairs be purchased for use in the pavilion. A plumber has been contacted to repair the leaks.

2243. A quote to decorate the pavilion has been received, Members accepted the quote, the work to be undertaken as soon as possible.

2244. The locks of the pavilion have been damaged in the recent break in. A quote has been received to repair the damaged door and supply new locks, The quote was accepted, the work to be undertaken as soon as possible.

The Shrubbery

2245. Woodland Trust have provided further details for the scheme they envisage for the Shrubbery, although they were unable to attend the meeting. The details were read to the meeting. It was decided that the poster advertising for volunteers be placed in Tickhill Today.

Proactive Councilling

2246. It is understood that articles from various contributors are being received, however the clerk is to prompt DMBC on its promised article.

2249. The letter regarding the timescales for the introduction of e planning applications was noted and DMBC confirmed that there were no proposed constituency boundary changes in the area.

Planning Matters

2250. No objections or observations were made on the planning applications to remove the trees from Old School Lane, and the lopping of trees on Carr Lane.

DMBC Councillor Hoyle left the meeting at 7.40pm

Matters Raised By Members

2251. Quotes have been received to lop the tree on the snicket and the trees overhanging third party properties on the playing field. The quote's were accepted ant the work is to be authorised as soon as possible.

2252. There has been no progress on the replacement trees for the playing field. Members are to inspect the trees at the contractors premises.

2253. Members raised concerns regarding the road surface at Whitecross Lane, it is considered to be unsafe. Clerk to report to DMBC.

Financial Matters

2254. The cheques were authorised for payment

2255. A letter has been received from the WCCA requesting a donation towards the annual Christmas dinner A donation of £250 was proposed.

2256. The matter agreed by unanimous vote, Councillors M Fromont and Bacon abstained from the discussion and vote due to the prior declaration of interests.

2257. Members discussed the matter of new Christmas lights and the services of an electrician to fit them. Clerk to obtain further information.

2258. The councillor audit of the accounts has been completed, The control system is considered to be satisfactory for the financial year 2012/13. A report was circulated and the clerk is to clarify the points raised at the next meeting.

Next Meeting

2259. The next meeting was confirmed as the the 3rd November 2011 at 6.30pm at the Community Centre. Agenda to be distributed.
